# Arithmetic Progression

An arithmetic progression is a sequence of numbers such that the difference between consecutive terms is constant. If the initial term of an artihmetic progression is $$a_1$$ and the common difference of succesive members is $$d$$, the nth term of the sequnce $$(a_n$$ is given by

$a_n = a_1 + (n-1)d$

The sum of the members of a finite arithmetic progression is called an arithmetic series.
